If you've lived in or visited Louisiana for any amount of time you know that we have a festival for just about anything and everything.

The Original Downtown Lake Charles Crawfish Festival is back and this year the festival will be full of crawfish, carnival rides and live music at the Lake Charles Civic Center on April 7th thru 9th, 2017.

Did you know there's another festival, of sorts, that commemorates rice in south Louisiana? It's actually called the Yellow Rails and Rice Festival, and it's based in Jennings.

The Great Acadian Awakening Music Festival is scheduled for the first weekend in October to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the arrival of what we now call our "Cajun" ancestors from the area known today as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

The crowd seemed larger to me on day 2. It also seemed a little less frantic and a bit more relaxed. The Superfest organizers and all of the security and Superfest crew did another awesome job. Now let's get to why we were there.
