What To Know Before This Is Home Fest This Weekend in Lake Charles

Lake Charles, Louisiana - Spring and Summertime in Southwest Louisiana brings FESTIVAL SEASON! The season continues this weekend with one of Lake Charles' own, This Is Home Fest, and we've got what you need to know before you head out this weekend...

This Is Home Fest is an all-day event filled with live music, great food, and family-friendly fun. There will be two music stages, offering something for everyone. Music styles include blues, zydeco, country, and more. The lineup features a mix of local favorites and well-known artists.

This is Home Festival - Lake Charles

This Is Home Fest is more than just a fun party; it is also a nonprofit organization that gives back to the community. Since it began, the festival has donated more than $31,000 to local causes. In 2021, the group even traveled to Kentucky to help tornado survivors by serving hot meals. That shows how much this event cares about helping others, both near and far.

This Is Home Fest Kids Zone

This year, This is Home Fest will have a Kids Zone. The Kids Zone is bigger and better this year and packed with fun for kids of all ages. Presented by West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, it features more activities, vendors, and hands-on experiences for families.

Kids can visit Almosta Ranch’s petting zoo, play laser tag at Bayou Games, and stop by a reading and activity tent hosted by Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School students. Families can also explore books at the Calcasieu Parish Public Library pop-up tent or enjoy music and learning activities at the Children’s Museum at Port Wonder.

Other fun includes scavenger hunts and giveaways from the City of Lake Charles Parks and Recreation, language games, dance activities, and giveaways from the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators mascot, Beaux. Kids can also meet adoptable pets from Calcasieu Parish Animal Services from 12 to 3 p.m.
