It might seem like the holidays are forever away, but they will be here before you know it. So, if you're planning on heading home for the holidays, you'll get the best deal if you book your flight this week.

According to the Huffington Post and the airfare analyst at Hopper, the best days to purchase your flights for the holidays are October 5th through October 12th. Tickets are cheapest 80 days before Christmas, but you can give yourself a little more time to book your flight for Thanksgiving.
