Topless Weekend at Holly Beach Still a Go
Topless Weekend is a national day where Jeep owners celebrate the change in weather and enjoy outdoor activities with their Jeeps. Due to the coronavirus and shutdowns, the national day was officially canceled. Well, for most areas.
Go Topless Weekend on the Cajun Riviera posted on their Facebook page that even though the national days are canceled, they will still be hosting a topless weekend at Holly Beach.
A lot of locals in the area are encouraging it to happen. One local renter even chimed in and said that the area has seen a spike in rentals over the past few weekends larger than their fourth of July weekend.
We want people to practice social distancing, of course. What better way to be socially distant than to hang out at a beach and get some sun. We will be out there, and encourage Jeep owners from all over to come and join us for another amazing weekend at Holly Beach.
The official topless day is Saturday, May 16, but most attendees arrive on the Friday before to have a pre-party as they kick off the weekend. Lake Charles' Jeep club, the Seven Slot Society of SWLA, will still be sponsoring their annual beach clean up that Sunday, and encourage all visitors to help them pick up trash. The VP of the club told us,
We are fortunate enough to have a beautiful area in our very own back yard. As a club, we believe in leaving nothing behind but foot prints. We encourage everyone who picks up trash to not only pick up trash that might have been left behind from the weekend, but to go find more trash that was left by others from the past.
