2020 has been a crazy year for Southwest Louisiana folks with two hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic. Now we are set to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends and family.

State and Federal officials are suggesting that we do our Thanksgiving celebrations with regulations and safety measures like smaller gatherings and social distancing.

The city of Lake Charles has announced the changes in times your garbage and trash pick ups will be taken care of for the holidays. On Thanksgiving day, there will be no trash pickup in the city.

If your trash and garbage is usually picked up on Thursday's you will have your trach picked up on Friday, November 27, 2020 for the holiday. Trash and garbage regularly picked up on Friday's then your trach will be picked up on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

The Team Green Recycling Truck and all recycling stations will be closed for the holidays.

The Department of Public Works and Lake Charles City Hall will also close on Thursday, November 26, 2020 and Friday, November 27, 2020 in observance of Thanksgiving but will reopen on Monday, November 30, 2020.
