Tulane Unveils New “King of Mardi Gras” Uniforms

New Orleans, Louisiana - The Tulane Green Wave rarely miss when they unveil a new uniform combination, and this time was no different. On Wednesday, Tulane unveiled its new "King of Mardi Gras” City Edition uniforms. The uniforms are packed with the colors and traditions that make Mardi Gras such a big part of New Orleans.

New Orleans is known around the world as the king of Mardi Gras. Now, Tulane football is bringing that famous New Orleans style to the football field.

Tulane Football is getting ready to break in a new era of Green Wave football this fall after Former head coach Jon Sumrall left the program for Florida, and Will Hall has taken over as the Green Wave’s new head coach. Tulane made the College Football Playoff for the first time in school history last season. Now, Hall will try to keep the Green Wave near the top of college football in 2026.

Tulane Releases Mardi-Gras Themed Uniforms

Wednesday, Tulane unveiled some SICK Mardi Gras themed uniforms, and they might be one of the best things we've ever seen...

The uniforms feature Tulane’s classic green, along with purple and gold. The jersey has “TULANE” across the chest, while the numbers have a special Mardi Gras design with all three colors.

The details don’t stop there. The uniforms have a purple, green, and gold argyle design around the collar and down the sides of the pants. Mardi Gras beads are also part of the design, including beads hanging from the first and last letters of each player’s name.

Tulane also gave its famous Angry Wave logo a Mardi Gras makeover. The Wave is now wearing a purple and gold jester hat while holding a “TULANE” megaphone. The new logo appears on the collar and pants.

The helmet may be the best part of the new look. It features a green shell, a chrome-style facemask, and a white stripe with diamond designs and Mardi Gras colors. Bead details are also included, while “UPTOWN” is written on the back of the helmet.

When Will Tulane Wear The Mardi Gras Themed Uniforms?

The Green Wave will wear the new uniforms on August 12 when Tulane hosts South Alabama.

Now, the meaning behind that game will have a little more behind it. As many know, New Orleans is famous for Mardi Gras, but Mobile, Alabama, where South Alabama is located, also claims to be the birthplace of the celebration. Tulane calling its uniforms the “King of Mardi Gras” is a fun way to add some extra spice to the game. POSERS!
