We reported yesterday that NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr and family were involved in a plane crash will en route to Tennessee for a race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Earnhardt was scheduled to be an analyst for NBC's NASCAR coverage over the weekend. Since retiring in 2017, he has be a regular commentator for the NASCAR series.

According to a few press releases, the private plane developed a fuel leak, resulting in the loss of a large amount of fuel out of the 1000 gallons the plane can carry. The plane was attempting to land, and apparently lost control, perhaps due to the lack of fuel. His sister, and business partner, released that everyone on board is safe, with only minor injuries and all souls on board were able to escape the plane once it crashed including the family dog.
