Grab your chair, ice down your preferred beverage, and cook some rice, the Vinton Mardi Gras Parade and Gumbo Cook-Off is this weekend! The Vinton Knights of Columbus are hosting a gumbo cook-off with teams cranking up their pots at 10am. The Vinton Mardi Gras Parade will begin at 1pm and will be filled will various groups just itching to throw things at you, including 2 of our very own group here in Lake Charles : The Seven Slot Society of SWLA and Krewe de Bien Faire!

Starting at the Vinton Middle School, the parade will head on down the main drag of Vinton (pending stops for the train) and end at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The Judging for the gumbo cook-off will begin at 2pm. After the Judges make their way through the contestants, the gumbo will be free of charge to all attendees.
