Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton Coming to Southwest Louisiana

Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - If you know music, then you know the name Wayne Newton. He has been entertaining audiences for over seven decades now. From being known as Mr. Las Vegas to touring all over the world, Wayne Newton is the true definition of a music legend.

The 83-year-old Newton started his career in 1958, when he began performing in Las Vegas. He eventually secured his own headlining show in 1963 and has been headlining his own show ever since. That is over 62 years now.

Wayne Newton is known not only as an American singer but also as an actor. His famous nickname is Mr. Las Vegas, but he is also known by other nicknames such as "The Midnight Idol" and "Mr. Entertainment."

Newton has had many hits in his career, including Danke Schoen, Summer Wind, Red Roses for a Blue Lady, Daddy, Don't You Walk So Fast, and Years. If you grew up in the 1980s, then you will know his song Danke Schoen because it was featured in one of the biggest movies in the 80s, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
