McNeese Football Wins SLC, Gets Playoff Berth And Now #2 Team In Nation

It was a huge weekend for our McNeese Cowboys football team.  The spotted Sam houston ten points in the first quarter but then rattled off 27 unanswered points to win the game 27-10 and stay undefeated.

With the win, the pokes won the Southland Conference and secured a FCS playoff berth.  Well today the McNeese Cowboys also moved up to the #2 team in the country in this weeks college football polls.  The Pokes are #2 in the FCS Coaches poll and #3 in the STATS Poll.

So we win the conference, get a playoff berth and now are the #2 team in the country.  That is what I am talking about Cowboy fans!  The blue and gold are off this week on their bye week.

We won't know if the Cowboys will get a home playoff game or what date they will play the game yet until after the McNeese/Lamar game.  The playoff game could be either November 28th or December 5th depending on the outcome.

The Cowboys will travel down I-10 next Saturday November 21st to take on the Lamar Cardinals in Beaumont in the season finale.  We will get the whole picture after that.  Congrats pokes!
