Friday and Saturday head out to Sulphur for the Mines Festival. There will be live music, arts and crafts, carnival rides, and even a dinner theatre.

It all kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. with music by the Cajun Playboys, with Sinners heading up on stage at 6:30 p.m.. On Saturday you have The Pookie Marceaux Band at 2:30 p.m., Zydecane at 4:30 p.m. and Wayne Dylan at 6:30 p.m..

There will be something for everyone, so bring out the family. You can enjoy the music, while the kids are at the carnival. While you are there, swing by the arts and crafts and food booths. There will also be a style show Saturday at 11, as well as a lecture series on both Friday and Saturday on a variety of local historical characters and topics.

There is a $5 entry fee and carnival ride tickets are $1 each or armbands for unlimited rides for $25.
