Chicken and Sausage Gumbo: This is one of my favorite meals. I can have this winter or summer, day or night and I love it. This is one that you need to try when you move to Louisiana. However, it is very important that the right person makes it. If they really know what they are doing, if they add a little shrimp to it. You got yourself a meal for the week.

Crawfish Etouffee: If you are new to the area, you've got to try some Crawfish Etouffee as it will have you full as a tick. I would not recommend authentic Etouffee from anywhere else other than Louisiana.

Jambalaya: If you are in Louisiana, you have to try out some of that Louisiana authentic Jambalaya. One thing that you will see while living here is that everything is served with rice. Whether it's Gumbo, Etouffee, or Jambalaya, you are going to get a nice serving of rice to go along with the dish. However, I wouldn't have it any other way, nor recommend it.

Shrimp Po-Boy- Sure you can probably get this from almost anywhere. But there is something about the Shrimp and the flavor that goes along with it to give it that kick to make it taste just right. I would highly recommend a few spots like Leonards, Seafood Palace, and even Steamboat Bill's if you want to get that po-boy just right.

Boudin: This is something that is really a quick meal if you are on the go. I love Boudin and even better than that I love Boudin Balls. This s a Louisiana staple and whether you want it spicy or regular. This is going to be something that you need to put into your life while you are residing or even visiting Louisiana.
