Apply to be a Hotdogger and Drive a Wiener Across America
I have made it no secret how much of a fan I am of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. When I found out a few years ago that it was coming to Lake Charles, I immediately jumped at the chance to go see it at Market Basket. I sat with (and probably annoyed) the Hotdoggers as I asked them all of the questions that have been swirling around in my brain for years. They gave me a full tour of the mobile and two official wiener whistles before I left. It always seemed like one of the coolest jobs to have, and you get to see the country from the window of a giant wiener.
Now, you could have a chance to do the same thing this year. The Hotdogger program took a little bit of a back bun last year due to the pandemic, but they are back to hiring again. They are looking for fresh college students, preferably with a degree in Public Relations or some sort of communication or media. You will get to go to Oscar Mayer's official learning program they call Hot Dog U and then travel the United States for a year spreading the good word of what it's like to be an Oscar Mayer Wiener.
The job requirements on their application website list out the responsibilities and requirements for potential applicants. Hotdoggers will hold over 200 events during the year of their term, be on local media as they travel from town to town, and fully represent the brand of Oscar Mayer as you crisscross the hot dog highways of America.
I wish I would have been a touch younger, and actually graduated college. This would have been right up my alley, and I would have been in heaven. Go live my dream for me, and maybe pick me up and take me for a ride?
