Better Business Bureau Warns of Tree Trimming Scam

We received an alert from Carmen Million President of BBB Southwest Louisiana Inc. warning residents of the business practices of Daniel's Tree Care.This company claims to be based in Lake Charles and the BBB has received complaints concerning Chasity Touchet who has approached area residents offering to perform tree removal but after payment was made the company didn't complete the work or in several cases did not perform any work. Residents said they wrote the checks to Chasity Touchet and not the company name.

The BBB warns:

"Daniel’s Tree Service continues to target unsuspecting consumers in Southwest Louisiana as evidenced by numerous recent complaints, resulting in an “F” rating. Million stated according to Calcasieu Parish Licensing, City of Lake Charles Licensing and Sulphur City Licensing, Daniel’s Tree Service does not have a license to operate nor does the company have a permit to solicit door to door."

To avoid this scam the BBB says "Always ask to see the person's credentials and call the company they are representing for verification and be wary of workers from out of state." Be sure to check the company out with the BBB 337-478-6253 or www.bbb.org.
