Real Men Wear Pink Hosting A Wing Cook-off In Lake Charles

[KNGT-FM] - October is breast cancer awareness month, and in Southwest Louisiana, there is a group of men who are known as the Real Men Wear Pink group, who hold fundraisers all month to raise money for this great cause.

Our very own Scotty Schadler is one of the Real Men Wear Pink. Scotty and the other guys host events throughout October, raising money for the American Cancer Society. The first event is actually taking place this Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Lake Charles.

Allen Joyner, who is also a Real Men Wear Pink Guy, is hosting the first-ever wing cookoff here in Lake Charles. The actual name of the event is the Allen Joyner Men Wear Pink Wing Cook-off and Day of Music. There is a Facebook event page built for the event, too.

The event will take place from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Coolers Ice House, located at 3622 1/2 Ryan Street in Lake Charles, LA. There will be teams cooking up their wings and trying to win the top prize. There will also be celebrity judges on hand to taste the food and choose the winners.

This Saturday, you can expect pink drink specials, raffles, a silent auction with fabulous items to bid on, contests, live music throughout the day, and other fun activities. You can go out this weekend and come enjoy great food, awesome music, and a splash of pink while supporting the fight against breast cancer.
