Friends and family want to honor the spirit and life of Heidi Broussard right here in Lake Charles. Heidi Broussard 33, and her two-week-old baby Margot vanished without a trace from her and her fiance's home in Austin on December,12th 2019. She was recently found deceased in the trunk of a car at the home of her "best friend".

Heidi was from Lake Charles and a graduate of Lagrange Highschool. She was a mother, a daughter, a friend, a partner, but most of all she was love. I remember on many occasions when we worked together her walking into work with a big smile on her face. Her energy was so infectious, it would instantly spread through the entire place. Her blue eyes were like the brightest sky you have ever seen and a smile that could melt a heart stone.

Friends and family are having a candlelight vigil in memory of this beautiful soul. They are encouraging people from the area to attend. Even if you did or did not know Heidi, but you feel connected to her in some way, you are invited to share tears and hugs.

The vigil will be this Saturday at the Civic Center, by the goose fountain and will start at 6:00 pm. Candles will be provided, so please get there early to ensure everyone gets a candle. If you would like to bring your own candle that is permissible.

Let's light up the lake the way Heidi lit up the world, with her heart!
