Our country's Independence Day is on July 4 and this year, you will be able to celebrate it in a big way the day before when Neal McCoy comes to town.

Country music legend Neal McCoy will in Lake Charles for a big concert on Saturday, July 3. If you follow Neal on Facebook or other social media outlets, you know he goes live to do the Pledge of Allegiance every morning. He is a huge supporter of our troops and an all around patriotic American. The 62-year-old hails from Jacksonville, Texas and has been entertaining audiences all over the country since 1988.

McCoy is no stranger to Lake Charles. I remember when he would come through Lake Charles at least once a year to perform live at Cowboys Night Club. If I remember right, he played Cowboys for about seven to eight years in a row.

No Doubt About It and Wink are two of his biggest hits, and McCoy has racked up 34 singles in his career with a few number one hits to his credit. He  also has ties to Southwest Louisiana, as two of his sound crew guys are from right here in the area. One of his guys actually used to be on Country radio here in Lake Charles.

Neal McCoy will be in concert on Saturday, July 3 here in Lake Charles at the Golden Nugget casino. Tickets go on sale tomorrow April 16.
