City of Lake Charles Shutting Down Services July 4th
The Independence Day holiday is coming up fast. It is this Thursday, July 4th, 2024, and most of us will have the day off that day. Some folks will plan on taking their boat out on the water, some will hang by a pool, while others will fire up the pit and cook some of their favorite foods.
You know that in Southwest Louisiana gas and charcoal grills will be blazing for the holiday. With most everything being closed for the holiday like your mail service, and banks closed, most federal, state, and city offices will also be closed.
Such is the case for the city of Lake Charles. City Hall and all its other offices and services will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. Kattie Harrington with eh city of Lake Charles said changes to your trash pickup will be changed.
She released the new schedule and it goes like this,
Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Thursday will be picked up on Friday, July 5, 2024.
- Garbage and trash normally picked up on Friday will be picked up on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
- Monday and Tuesday routes will remain on their regular schedules.
- All Recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. They will resume regular operations on Friday, July 5, 2024.
