LSU’s Game Time Set for College World Series in Omaha
(KNGT-FM) - The LSU Tigers are headed back to the College World Series for the 20th time in program history after the Tigers defeated West Virginia on Sunday night to capture the Baton Rouge Regional. The game day and times were not *officially* set until Monday evening, but now we know what day and what time LSU will play this weekend...
In Sunday’s win, shortstop Steven Milam and right fielder Jake Brown each drove in four runs to lead the Tigers. Milam went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a big three-run double in the second inning. Brown also had a big night, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the seventh and a couple of RBI hits earlier in the game. LSU exploded for five runs in the second and six more in the seventh to take full control of the game.
Starting pitcher Anthony Eyanson got the win, improving his record to 11-2 on the season. He threw five innings, giving up four runs on five hits while striking out seven. The bullpen took care of the rest, with Cooper Williams and Chase Shores closing out the final four innings. Shores struck out the side in the ninth to seal the win.
