Everything You Need to Know About the SWD Livestock Show & Rodeo
It's that time again. Time for bulls, horses, boots, cowboys, cowgirls, and a whole lotta fun! The 81st SWD Livestock Show and Rodeo will be held from January 25 through February 1 of this year, and we have the schedule laid out for you.
It starts with their Week Long Trail Ride at 9:00am in Gueydan, LA as it heads to Welsh, LA. The trail ride will run all week as it makes its way to Lake Charles.
Tuesday, January 28 - 7:30am - Free Pancake Breakfast at Southern Spice - First 50 people to go will receive free pancake and a free rodeo ticket.
Wednesday, January 29 - 8:00am begins the livestock show at Burton.
Thursday, January 30 - All Calcasieu Parish schools will be able to dress for Western Day and the entire city of Lake Charles is encouraged to do the same. At 3:00pm inside of Patton's Western Wear will be an autograph session with Hall of Fame Bullfighter and Rodeo Clown, Lecile Harris, along with Miss Rodeo American 2020. Also, at 5:00pm will be the Rodeo Parade.
Friday - Gator 99.5 Night! We have changed up the days on you this year. Friday night will be our night to party inside of the Burton. Johnny Jimenez will be playing on the back of the Luxury Limo Buddy Russ Bus before doors. Once doors open, a free concert by Travis Matte will be inside the arena. The rodeo will begin right after Travis Matte at 7:30pm.
Saturday - Matinee Rodeo performance begins at 2:00pm. Last night performance begins at 7:30pm.
