Halloween is my favorite time of the year, Fall weather, candy corn, pumpkin flavored coffee, and lots of family-friendly fun.  Fall festivals, carnivals and costume parties for all ages, I have listed all the major happen gins in SWLA for the whole family.

Harvest Festival:  3 pm- 5:30pm Saturday, October 31st, Lake Charles Civic Center.  There will be games, train rides, face painting, balloons, festival food and a Tiny TOTS World.  A costume contest with prizes awarded for the most scary, best homemade, and best store bought.  Admission is free, for more information call 337-491-1280.

Lighthouse Tabernacle's Harvest Fest:  3:30pm- 7pm October 31st at Lighthouse Tabernacle in Sulphur, Louisiana.  Food, games, pony rides, a petting zoo, singing, inflatables, and Trunk or Treat for all ages.  The event is free and open to the public.

The Lost Hallows:  6pm- 11:30pm on October 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, October 29 (lights out night!), and Oct 30-31.  Participants gather in the parking lot of Spirit Halloween on Derek Drive, where they will e shuttled to the trails.  Tickets are $7-$35 and group rates are available.  For more information visit The Lost Hallows.

"Carnival of Screams":  7pm-11pm on October 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and October 30-31 at the USS Orleck Naval Museum at 6-04 N. Enterprise Blvd in Lake Charles.  Doors open at 6pm.  Ticket prices start at $13.  A "haunted laser tag" fundraiser will take place on the ship at 6pm Thursday, October 22 and 9pm on Friday, October 23.  Proceeds to benefit the Heartstone Foundation SWLA and the Orleck.  For more information, call 337-214-7447.

Rocker Horror Picture Show:  7:30pm Thursday October 29 and Friday, Oct 30; and 7:30 and Midnight on Halloween night at the Central School Arts & Humanities Center, 809 Kirby St.  Tickets are $20, to order call 337-302-2259.

Make Jack-O-Lanterns:  11am and Noon on Halloween at the Children's Museum in Lake Charles.  Both classes are limited to 20 children, ages 3 and up.  The museum will close at 4:15pm for Halloween.

LeBleu Trunk or Treat:  5pm-7pm October 26 at LeBleu Settlement Elementary, 6509 La. 3059.  There will be a photo booth, nachos, hot dogs, and drinks for sale.  For more information, 337-217-4880.

Hotel Transylvania:  7pm Friday, October 30 at Prien Lake Park.  Trashsquatch will be visiting to take pictures.  Residents may bring their own food, or purchase concessions sight.  Bring your own blanket or lawn chairs.  For more information, call 337-721-3540.

Witchy Way Down Main Street:  3pm-5pm Friday, Oct 30 down Crowley's Main Street.  Candy, food, fun and more.  For information, call 337-783-0824.
