Festivals Acadiens et Créoles Reveals 2026 Music Lineup
Lafayette, LA [KNGT-FM] - Lafayette is getting ready for another celebration of the music and culture that make South Louisiana unlike anywhere else, and the 2026 Festivals Acadiens et Créoles lineup is bringing plenty of familiar names to the stage.

The festival returns to Girard Park in October, with this year's celebration carrying extra significance as the event becomes part of the Smithsonian's nationwide “Of the People: The Smithsonian Festival of Festivals” initiative honoring America's 250th anniversary. The Smithsonian organizers describe the program as a way to spotlight festivals that bring communities together through culture, tradition, and shared experiences.

Music remains at the heart of the weekend, with Louisiana favorites including Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Crush, and The Holiday Playgirls. Wayne Toups is set to close out the musical celebration Sunday.

One of the most intriguing additions this year is the return of Scène '76, a stage inspired by the festival's original setup when Festivals Acadiens et Créoles moved to Girard Park in 1976.
The 2026 festival also carries the theme “Revolution and Evolution: Celebrating 250 Years of Cultural Fusion on the Bayou,” connecting Louisiana's musical traditions with the nation's broader cultural story.
