Festivals And Events In Lake Charles & SWLA This Weekend Oct. 18-20
The week is over and Mother Nature has set us up for a great-looking weekend of weather. This will be a perfect weekend to get out and do something outdoors and lucky for us, several events and a festival are going on in the area to attend.
With the highs Friday through Sunday in the upper 70s and low 80s and the lows in the lower 60s and upper 50s, we are set up for a perfect weekend of fun. Here's what is going on in the lake area this weekend.
Chuck Fest is celebrating its 10th year and the festival will take place this Saturday, October 19th, 3024 from Noon to Midnight. The festival is free to enter and open to all ages. It takes place in downtown Lake Charles will several areas on the street to enjoy live music. Here is the entire entertainment lineup here.
Movies Under The Stars takes place on Friday night. The popular four-week movie series is put on by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and takes place at different parks each week. This week, the movie will start at 6:30 pm and the movie being shown is IF. This week's movie will be shown at the Bulber Auditorium located at 4205 McNeese Street in Lake Charles. It is free and open to all ages and the entire family.
Zydeco artist Rusty Metoyer will be performing live Saturday night at the Horseshoe Casino in Westlake, Louisiana. The show has no cover charge and Rusty and his band Zydeco Krush will perform inside the Brew Brothers on the casino floor. The show gets underway at 9:30 pm and will go on until 12:30 pm.
Live thoroughbred horse racing will be live in Vinton, Louisiana, at Delta Downs. You can go out and watch these horses race as they have races on Friday and Saturday nights. Post times for the first race start at 4:50 pm Central time.
