So, you mean to tell me that the dentist has been making me feel guilty about not flossing my entire life and it isn't even proven to work?

Well, this is interesting. I dread the dentist solely due to the fact that I have to feel guilty every time they ask me about my flossing habits. And now I'm finding out that flossing might not even do anything for my oral health? I feel a little betrayed, Dr Tyrone, I'm not gonna lie.

According to the Associated Press the Department of Health and Human Services said "The effectiveness of flossing has never been researched, as required." What! So why do we floss? Oh, because "It's low risk, low cost.  We know there's a possibility that it works, so we feel comfortable telling people to go ahead and do it." Thanks, DHHS, that's definitely a great reason...

Take a peek at more of the findings on flossing on the Associated Press website.
