McNeese has been a cornerstone of the Lake Charles community since its beginnings in 1939 when it opened as Lake Charles Junior College. Back then, the campus included just three buildings built as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. One of those historic structures is the Bulber Auditorium, which remains a focal point of campus life and will serve as the backdrop for this special celebration.

Whether you’re an alumni, a current student, or a proud supporter of the university, this event is the perfect way to celebrate McNeese’s lasting impact on the region.

The highlight of the evening will be a free concert by The Flamethrowers, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. The popular band is known for putting on high-energy shows that will have the crowd dancing all night long.

But that’s not all! The event will also feature plenty of fun for all ages, including free popcorn and cotton candy, a bounce house for the kids, and a beer corral for adults to enjoy. Food trucks will also be on-site, offering a variety of tasty options to satisfy every craving. This celebration is not just about entertainment—it's a tribute to McNeese's rich legacy and deep ties to the community.

So, bring your friends and family, grab a blanket or chair, and join the fun this Saturday!
