Competitions at the Cameron Parish Fur and Wildlife Festival include skinning, archery, duck and goose calling, oyster shucking, dog trials, trap setting and a gumbo cook-off. The festivals first full day is Friday January 9th and gets started at 10 a.m.with dog trial registration followed by the competition. The festival features live music Friday and Saturday including Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Road Runners, Water's Edge and a Bag of Donuts. There are pageants and a parade.
