If you don't realize the Easter weekend is coming up next Friday through Sunday, April 15th to the 17th.

So with that being said, Good Friday is next week which means that most of the government facilities and services will be closed for the holiday on Friday the 15th.

The city of Lake Charles has announced that they will be observing the holiday which will alter your garbage and trash pickup.  According to the city of Lake Charles, the changes in trash and garbage pickup are as follows:

  • Trash and garbage normally picked up on Friday will be rescheduled for pickup on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

  • The Team Green Recycling Truck and Green Station No. 2 (Nelson Ball Field-Alma Ln.) will not be available on Friday, April 15, but will resume collection on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

  • The Incinerator will be closed on Friday, April 15, but will resume regular operating hours on Monday, April 18.

The city of Lake Charles wanted us to remind all the folks that containers and other items for removal should be placed out before 7:00 am on collection day or the night before your trash pick-up is scheduled.

You are also reminded that your trash cans should be removed no later than 7:00 pm the day your trash is picked up that day.
