German Fan Gets Louisiana Experience During Road Trip to World Cup
Louisiana - With the World Cup kicking off this past weekend here in the United States, there have been a ton of out-of-towners taking on America over the last week, and some of the stories are awesome! A German fan known online as “Freddy” is traveling to Houston to watch Germany play in the World Cup. He has been sharing his trip on social media and has recently been given the "red carpet" experience here in the Bayou State.

Every few years, we have someone from out of town who comes into America and falls in love with Louisiana. Think about our friends Josh and Jase, who have millions of followers and just came back to the States for their first-ever live show in Lake Charles.
Freddy and two friends started a six-week road trip across North America to experience the country while following the World Cup. Along the way, he has been sharing photos and videos of everything from famous landmarks to local food. During their trip through the country to Houston, Freddy got to experience New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and some of the things that make Louisiana unique.
“Driving through the great state of Louisiana, on our way to New Orleans. It’s crazy how diverse this country is. Every day, the scenery looks different," Freddy posted on social media.

While in New Orleans, Freddy visited Bourbon Street, stopped by a local Waffle House, and even got a special tour of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans facilities. During the visit, Freddy met Saints quarterback Tyler Shough and got to see some behind-the-scenes areas. He also held the Super Bowl XLIV Lombardi Trophy, and the Saints gave him the team gear to take home.
Freddy and his friends continued their Louisiana tour by visiting LSU. They toured the campus, visited Mike the Tiger, and checked out Tiger Stadium. Freddy was amazed by the size of Death Valley. While in Baton Rouge, the group also stopped at the original Raising Cane's.
One interesting part of Freddy’s trip is that he has kept his identity a secret. He posts pictures and videos but never shows his face.
Germany got the win on Sunday over the Curaçao National Team, 7-1. Now Germany will move on to take on the Ivory Coast on Saturday. Since they don't play again for a few days, Freddy and his buddies are going to take a trip up to Tulsa before making their way back to Houston.
