🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — This Saturday, July 12th, our community in Moss Bluff is coming together for a very special reason. From 10:30 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon, Ole Habitz Bar will host a benefit for a sweet 5-year-old girl named McKinli Bauer. Ole Habitz Bar is located at 236 Hwy 171 in Moss Bluff, Louisiana.

What Is DIPG?

McKinli was recently diagnosed with something called DIPG. What is DIPG you might ask, because I didn’t know. It is a rare but aggressive brain tumor that grows on the brainstem. This part of the brain controls the vital things we all need to stay alive, like breathing and swallowing. Right now, there is no cure for DIPG. This kiddo and her family are in desperate need our help and love more than ever.

That’s why it’s time for all of us in Southwest Louisiana to rally together. I’m calling out all the Mardi Gras Krewes, Bike Clubs, Jeep Clubs, and any other clubs in our area, come out and show McKinli and her family they are not alone in this fight.

The benefit will have lots of ways for everyone to pitch in. You can buy a delicious jambalaya dinner for just $10 a plate. There will be a pool tournament if you want to show off your skills. If your not a pool player, that’s ok, they also have a silent auction where you can bid on cool items, a 50/50 raffle for a chance to win some money, and T-shirts for sale to help raise even more funds.

Events like this show just how much love SWLA has. This is a reason I love living here when one of our own needs our help, we always step up.

So call ya mawmaw, your family, your whole Krewe. Buy some jambalaya. Bid on something special. Maybe win the pool tournament. But most of all, let’s surround McKinli and her family with hope, hugs, and help.

Southwest Louisiana, let’s show what we’re made of. We’re fighters. We’re helpers. We’re family. Let’s fight with McKinli and give her family a little light during this tough time.
We hope to see you at Ole Habitz Bar this Saturday.
