Over the past few years, we have seen the downtown area of Lake Charles come alive with renovations to historic buildings, new restaurants and businesses opening up and festivals being planned in downtown Lake Charles.  Well, it looks like another project is in the works according to Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter.

Yesterday, Mayor Hunter announced on Facebook a brand new $16 million dollar project that will be taking place in the historical district of downtown Lake Charles.

According to the Lake Charles mayor, Real Estate Developer Green Coast Enterprises is set to redevelop a historic building in downtown Lake Charles. You may remember it as Luna Live building but most recently it was Zyphyr's located on the 700 block of Ryan Street.

The plan is to transform the vacant building into a commercial space. On the bottom floor of the building, it will feature food and beverage tenants, and office spaces on the top floors.

Mayor Hunter took to his Facebook page to make the big announcement. In the post, Jackie Dadakis, CEO of Green Coast Enterprises said,

“We found a beautiful, historic building on the Ryan Street corridor that we get to return to commerce. It’s the perfect project for us. As with all Green Coast developments, partnerships with local businesses and building green are important to us and this project will exemplify those qualities.”

So get ready for Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana, it looks like downtown Lake Charles is getting bigger and better with more exciting things to come!
