There are two things I want when the weather gets cold outside: apple cider and hot chocolate! There is just nothing better than sipping on hot chocolate as you enjoy the cold air. My issue with hot chocolate, sadly, is that it just never seems to be chocolatey enough. I find myself having to use two packets or even three to get the chocolatey goodness that my pallet deserves.

A few years ago, Boombox Frozen Pops and Ice Cream presented to the world their version of hot chocolate. I remember I was in the studio when I saw it pop up, and immediately reached out to them to get a sample of the beauty that was their version.

What makes this version of hot chocolate the best? It starts with the milk. Boombox sources their milk from Hillcrest Creamery in DeRidder. The milk then has chocolate melted into it as it's heated inside of their warmer and frother as you order it. Finally, the hot chocolate is topped off with their homemade marshmallows that are toasted before serving.

This combination of fresh milk and it having the chocolate melted inside of it as your order, just makes for the richest combination you have ever graced your tongue with. I have had a lot of versions of hot chocolate, and this is the one I now compare them all to. Plus, that homemade marshmallow is something you have never tasted before in your life!

This year, they are even taking their marshmallow game a step further by offering two different flavors of their homemade confection. You can choose what flavor of marshmallow you want: salted caramel or peppermint! Lord have mercy I would need one of each. You can catch your very own cup and try it for yourself at their new location in Lake Charles at 2825 Country Club Road Suite B.
