Is Louisiana a Valentine’s Day Cheapskate?
Valentine's Day is coming up in just a couple of weeks and we could see another year of record spending.
A survey by Opploans says Louisiana residents are some of the biggest spenders for their sweethearts. We spend, on average, $48.85 on Valentine's Day. The biggest spenders are in New Mexico where they spend more than $168 dollars.
Here are the top 10:
New Mexico $168
Connecticut $69
Missouri $64
Texas $61
Louisiana $48
Idaho $46
Hawaii $46
Alabama $42
Tennessee $42
Kansas $42
So what state has the cheapskates? Residents of Alaska and North Dakota don't plan to spend anything on Valentine's Day. Maine residents are expecting to spend less than $10. Residents say they plan to spend $9.67 this year.
This survey shows the average spending for Valentine's Day is $33.64. I guess that could cover a box of chocolates and maybe a movie?
