Here Are 50+ WD-40 Household Tricks Everyone Should Know About

I always knew you could use WD-40 to stop a squeaky door hinge or shine stainless steel. But I had no idea there were so many other uses for this oil and water-displacing spray. Granted, it doesn't smell so good. But your need to fix or clean something might outweigh its stinkiness.

I looked up the uses for WD-40 because a friend of mine told me she used it to remove hard water from her shower and shower door. Unfortunately, hard water comes with the territory in SWLA. I checked out my friend's advice online and found this video that shows WD-40 removes water stains and does a ton of other things.

Hard water is nearly impossible to remove once it appears on your glass doors, shower walls, and counters. I know how to prevent the damage. Don't use bar soap, use shower gel instead to avoid soap scum. Buy a small squeegee. After every shower, remove the water from the glass and immediately or dry your counters immediately. Once a month, treat your glass and walls doors with Rainx or silicone spray for windows.

What I haven't been able to do is find a remedy that works all the time. Here are the tricks I've used: dawn, baking soda, and white vinegar; slicing a lemon in half and using it to scrub the glass and shower walls; a super fine grade of stainless steel wool; comet; soft scrub; scotch brite. None of these work all the time. I tried just about everything except WD-40! I can't wait to try it.
