Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale Lost How Much After Astros Loss To Rangers?
Since sports betting became legal in Louisiana, we have seen so many brick-and-mortar sports books bars, and restaurants have opened up across the state. Most are housed inside Louisiana casinos like L'auberge, Golden Nugget, The Horseshoe, Ceasers in New Orleans, and others.
Plus now that people can download the sports betting apps like Draft Kings, Ceasars, and Fan Duel just to name a few, they can bet on sports from the comfort of their own homes. Most people don't have big money to bet so they are making the $5 and $10 tye wagers but if you are a fan of sports betting then you know about Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale.
Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is the owner of Gallery Furniture in the Houston, Texas area and we all know how passionate he is about the Houston Astros. He is known for laying down ridiculous money on the Astros hoping for a big payout like most of us are.
Well, it looks like Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale may have lost upwards of 7.9 million dollars after the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 11-4 in game seven of the American League Championship Series.
Mattress Mack made four bets and one last-minute bet on the Astros after they lost games one and two. He made all five bets for the Astros to win the World Series which combined totaled 7.9 million dollars. According to Fox Sports, Mac bets are laid out like this,
$1.9 million Astros +600 (Caesars)
$1 million Astros +1100 (Caesars)
$2 million Astros +450 (Caesars)
- $1 million on Astros +750 (FanDuel)
$2 million Astros +600 (DraftKings)
Add it up, that's 7.9 million. Now if the Astros had won, Mattress Mack would have won around $50.9 million for a total payout of $58.8 million which would been a huge payday for the furniture king.
Don't worry about Mac though, he has been running a promotion saying if you buy at least $3,000 worth of furniture or more and the Astros win, you get all your money back. Well, we all know the outcome of the game now so Matress Mac now gets to keep all that money. The big question is, did he sell enough furniture to get the money he bet back? I don't know if we will ever find out that answer.
