Jon Pardi joined American Idol Top 2 contestant Laine Hardy for a medley of the already-star's hits "Dirt on My Boots" and "Night Shift" on Sunday night's (May 19) season finale.

They had an interesting introduction from a fellow American Idol hopeful with a skull mask, who screamed: "It's time to party with Hardy!"

American Idol judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie coined the phrase for the two-time contestant and possible show winner. Pardi and Hardy certainly did bring the party — and the country — to the Idol stage.

They kicked it off with "Dirt on My Boots" on elevated platform, with Pardi's acoustic guitar and Hardy's electric guitar. The background set was an appropriate country field, which then turned into a nighttime city skyline when they went into the second song, "Night Shift."

They ditched their instruments and made their way to the main stage to interact with fans — as much for Hardy as for Pardi in this audience. Hearing two vocals on the song was a new experience for both of them, but they had chemistry together and it worked.

Pardi will be touring this summer with Dierks Bentley supporting his Burning Man Tour alongside Tenille Townes. Earlier in the evening, Hardy delivered covers of "Home" — which Richie dubbed "nasty!" but in a good way — and "Jambalaya."
