July 4th Fireworks Shows in and Near Lake Charles for 2013
Ain't nothing more American than a big ol' fireworks display on Independence Day. So just where are we planning to light up the sky for July 4 this year around Southwest Louisiana? We've got you covered:
Lake Charles
Red, White Blue and You -- Thursday, July 4
The Parade will roll at 6 p.m. from Mill Street, south on Ryan Street, dispersing at the corner of Ryan and 7th Street (by Locke Park). The celebration will continue at the Civic Center Outdoor Amphitheatre beginning at 7:15pm. The program will open with Eleisha Eagle singing the National Anthem, music duo Paul Gonsoulin & John Guidroz, a concert by the Lake Charles Community Band with the Louisiana Choral Foundation & Friends, and a salute to the Armed Forces. DeRidder
Thursday, July 4
Gather on Washington Street for DeRidder's annual Independence Day celebration. Gates open at 7 p.m. with events for the whole family. The fireworks should start around 9 p.m.
Elton
Wednesday, July 3
Elton's free festival will take place in the Town Park with gates opening at 5 p.m. Fireworks should begin at around 9 p.m.
Jennings
Stars & Stripes Celebration -- Wednesday, July 3
Gates open at 4 p.m. at the Louisiana Oil and Gas Park with events for the children, live music and food. Fireworks will begin between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. as the sun goes down.
Lake Arthur
Saturday, June 29
The Town of Lake Arthur will get an early start to its July 4th celebrations. Fireworks will be shot off the town's boardwalk at the lakefront starting at around 8:30 p.m.
