You Can Now Use Your LA Wallet Wherever You Go

(KNGT-FM) - Since Louisiana introduced the LA WALLET app, it has been my best friend. That is, until you go out of Louisiana, and no one else will accept it. That looks like that might be changing, and we've got everything you need to know about it...

I know a bunch of people who don’t even carry a wallet anymore. Everything they need is right on their phone. Whether you’ve got an iPhone or a Samsung, both let you add your debit and credit cards to the app. Throw in LA Wallet, and unless you're carrying cash, there’s really no need to keep a wallet on you.

The LA WALLET app has been a great resource for Louisiana residents. If you don't have it, you probably should... LA Wallet is Louisiana’s official digital wallet app that lets you store your driver’s license, vehicle registration, vaccine records, and even SNAP or WIC benefit cards on your phone. It’s safe, easy to use, and helps you keep everything in one place. With LA Wallet, you might not even need to carry a physical wallet anymore unless you’re using cash.

There have also been a few more additions to the app as well... If you’re on SNAP or WIC, update your LA Wallet app. You’ll be able to view your card info and keep everything in one place, so there is no need to carry it with you anymore.

On Monday, it was announced by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry that Louisiana residents will be able to use the LA WALLET app outside of Louisiana.

For the next three years, Louisiana residents will now be able to use LA Wallet at TSA security checkpoints, federal buildings, and courthouses. In 2028, TSA will review LA Wallet again to ensure it remains compliant with federal privacy and security standards.
