The Offices of Motor Vehicles in Lake Charles and Sulphur are still closed due to sustaining major damages from Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Even though the offices are closed, SWLA residents can still take care of much of their business at the OMV's website. Services like driver's license, vehicle registration renewal, and many more are available online. You can also book an appointment at another office that is open to take care of business in person.

The Jennings and Kinder offices are open if residents would rather have face-to-face interaction. The Dequincy OMV is open. However, it's by appointment only, which you can make on their website by clicking the "book appointment" icon on the main page.

There is no current reopen date for the Lake Charles and Sulphur OMV offices, but OMV Public Information Director Matthew Boudreaux told KPLC they are working as fast as they can to get them back in business.
