Lake Charles’ Historic City Hall Presents Window on the West during Spring Art Walk
Window on the West: Views from the American Frontier will open Friday, April 26, during Spring Art Walk from 5 - 9 p.m. at Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center. Lake Charles is one of 3 cities already scheduled on a six-city tour through North America.
The exhibit will hang in the second floor gallery through July 20. Window on the West, a collection of Arthur J. Phelan, is an extraordinary examination of Western American art that reflects the humble beginnings of America and the untamed land of its earlier inhabitants. This exhibition includes more than 60 works from artists who all share the rare characteristic of being one of the first to set eyes on the vast, untouched land of Western America.
Also on exhibit will be Pueblo to Pueblo: The Legacy of Southwest Indian Pottery through May 25.
