Lake Charles Man Arrested for Cruelty to a Juvenile

According to spokesperson Kim Myers, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated a complaint on October 7th of cruelty to a juvenile. Authorities found large bruises on the back of a 4-year-old girl. A family acquaintance, 28-year-old Olmer M. Funes, of Lake Charles, whipped the girl with a belt on her back, said Myers .

Funes was arrested, booked, and charged with cruelty to a juvenile. His bond was set at $5,000.
