Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - Thanksgiving is just a week away, which means people all over Southwest Louisiana will be getting prepared to welcome in family and friends for a big Thanksgiving meal, do some shopping, and enjoy a few days off.

The holiday also means that many things will be shutting down to observe it, including federal, state, and local agencies. Not only will their offices be closed for the holiday, but the services that these institutions provide will also be closed.
