Local Country Artist Steven Simon CD Release
Steven Simon (see-maw) is a new and upcoming artist from right here in Louisiana. Steven was born and raised in Crowley, LA. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He spent his first two years at Camp Pendleton in CA then volunteered for Marine Security Guard duty. Steven was fortunate enough to be selected for security details to protect Secretary of State Madeline Albright and President Bill Clinton. After the Marine Corps he went into the oilfield.
Steven's music career started because of his daughter who also sings. She wanted to audition for The Voice. He immediately agreed to audition with her. They made a video and posted it to social media. It currently has over 235k views. Neither of them made it onto the show, but Steven realized he really enjoyed singing and wanted to see where he could take it. He posted a few videos on social media and was contacted by Heartsongs Records.
That's been 1.5 years with Heatsongs and Steven has released Tongue Tied, Eyes Closed, Life is Good, Story to Tell and, most recently, Should've Been Me. All of his recordings have been with renowned Larry Beaird Studio in Nashville, where he has worked with some of the best session musicians.
Steven brings his Cajun flair and his country roots back to the kitchen table. Some of his inspirations include Travis Tritt, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Chris Janson, and George Strait. One of his favorite quotes that keep his boots planted is from the great Loretta Lynn, “You either need to be first, you need to be the best, or you need to be different.” He doesn't want to be anyone else but is extremely grateful for the ones that have come before him to help light the way.
Steven is having an EP release party for Story to Tell this January 11th in Crowley, Louisiana. From 7 PM – 9 PM. For more details visit StevenJohnSimonReleaseParty.
