Louisiana DirecTV customers were left frustrated on Sunday night when they discovered they couldn't watch the big LSU vs. USC football game. This was due to a dispute between DirecTV and Disney, which led to the removal of ESPN, ABC, and other Disney-owned channels from DirecTV's lineup.

The blackout, which has now stretched into its third day, has upset many fans as the college football and NFL seasons kick off. The outage has affected around 11 million subscribers across the country, making it a widespread issue.

For those who missed out on watching their favorite sports and shows, DirecTV is offering some compensation. The company is providing a credit of at least $20 to customers who use DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, or U-Verse services. However, this credit isn't automatic. Customers need to visit a special website and apply for the credit using their account's email. The credit will then appear on a future bill.

DirecTV has assured its customers that it's working hard to resolve the situation. On their website, the company stated, "We’re pursuing every avenue to get your station back." They added that the bill credit is a way to thank customers for their patience.

The disagreement started when Disney pulled ESPN, ABC, and other channels because the two companies couldn't agree on a new distribution deal. DirecTV's chief content officer, Rob Thun, accused Disney of trying to maximize profits at the expense of consumers, making it harder for people to watch the shows and sports they want at a reasonable price.

In response, Disney said it was willing to offer DirecTV flexible terms similar to those offered to other distributors but wouldn't accept a deal that undervalues its channels and programs.

As the blackout continues, many DirecTV customers in Louisiana are left hoping for a quick resolution so they can get back to watching their favorite sports and shows. In the meantime, they can apply for the credit to at least get some compensation for the inconvenience.
