Sam Houston Captures Back-To-Back Championships
Last year, the Sam Houston Broncos captured their first baseball Championship since 2001 when they took down Live Oak to win the 2025 State Championship. This year, after losing in Game One in heartbreaking fashion, the Broncos were in a similar spot as they were in a year ago. Same result, different year.
Each year, the State Representatives for most districts in the State take time out of the Legislative sessions to invite the Championship teams to come and be recognized on the floor of the Louisiana Capitol. Last year, Sam Houston went, and Governor Jeff Landry made the Broncos a little promise....
If the Broncos won back-to-back titles, he would buy the whole team Marucci bats.

Governor Jeff Landry Delivers on Promise to Sam Houston Baseball Team
On Wednesday night, the Governor posted on Social Media showing Bronco Nation that those bats are gonna be headed their way and that he made good on his promise.
"Hey, to all the Sam Houston Broncos and Coach Chad Hebert, this is Governor Jeff Landry here. You know, last year when you guys came to see me, I bet you all that if you won another back-to-back State Championship, I'd buy everyone a Marucci bat. Well, looks like y'all did it. Congratulations! One thing I pride myself on is that promises made are promises kept. So, here's your bats. Here's to everyone in the Sam Houston."
