For the second time, defensive coordinator Bo Pelini is leaving the LSU Football program. Bo Pelini came back to LSU this season and after one year, he is already leaving.

LSU athletics announced Pelini and the university came to a mutual agreement to part ways after only one year by agreeing to a financial settlement to end Pelini’s employment with the university.

if you didn't know, this isn't the first time that Bo Pelini coached at LSU. He was also the defensive coordinator for the Tigers from 2005-2007 before leaving to take the head coaching job at Nebraska.

Unfortunately, this isn't the only coach leaving the LSU football program. Passing game coordinator Scott Linehan, safety coach Bill Busch, and defensive line coach Bill Johnson will not return to the program in 2021.

The Tigers finished the 2020 season 5-5 on the season and were 124 out of 127 FBS teams where the defense allowed 492 yards per game. This stat alone was probably the main catalyst for the mutual split with Pelini.

Now the search will be on for a brand new defensive coordinator along with the other positions vacated. LSU's now going to not only rebuild the team and players, but also more of their coaching staff.

LSU will not play in a bowl game this year due to a self-imposed bowl ban on themselves after an NCAA investigation was started.
