College football is loved all over the country, but there is something a bit different about gamedays in Louisiana. Football fans in the Bayou State take Saturday gamedays to a whole new level. From packing the parking lots outside of the stadiums, tailgating, to having football parties at your house, the intensity, planning, and game day experience is just different in Louisiana.

For LSU fans, they haven't had much to cheer about at the beginning of the last five seasons. We mean the anticipation and excitement are there, but by the end of the first game of the season, Tigers fans have been let down and disappointed about the outcome of the season-opening games the past five years.

That is because LSU has lost its season-opening game for the past five seasons. The last time the Tigers won their opening season game was back in 2019 when they won it all and hoisted the National Championship trophy, and sat at the top of the college football world.

In the past five years, the Tigers fell to Florida State twice, UCLA, Mississippi State, and USC last year. The losing streak, which started back in 2020, has continued with five straight season-opening game losses.

In 2025, head coach Brian Kelly and his squad will be looking to break that streak, but it will be a tall task. LSU will open up its 2025 campaign on the road in Clemson when it takes on the Clemson Tigers. But with a new season comes new optimism. Like we all say, it's a new year and a fresh start.
