Martina McBride’s Fans Forced To Wait — New Album Delayed Until October
It’s been over two years since Martina McBride has delivered a full-length album of new material — and the wait just got a little longer for her fans.
McBride’s upcoming release, which will be her eleventh studio set, was scheduled for August, but Universal Republic has pushed it back a few weeks — to October 18, to be exact. She addressed the change in a recent blog post, calling it “a decision the record company made in order to give us the best opportunity for a great first week in sales, which so many people pay attention to in the industry.”
She went on to put a positive spin on the new release date, saying “I love the fact that it’s coming out in the fall. The August date scared me a little…back to school and all that. Plus now it’s out just in time for you to get it and give it out as treats for Halloween!”
The as-yet untitled album’s lead single, ‘Teenage Daughters,’ was released in February, peaking at number 17 on Billboard’s Country Songs chart.
