Mazen’s Possible Restaurant Gets a NO

The vote happened last night for the house on Shell Beach Dr. in Lake Charles. Sizing of the streets, zoning, and safety were all concerns of the residents of the area. The mansion was speculated to be able to seat 150 people and also be a high-end event center as well.

Last night, the room was packed with people wearing black and red, the colors of the signs posted all along Shell Beach Dr. in protest of the new business. Residents claimed that there should not be a restaurant in a neighborhood area. The argument against that was that there are plenty of places like the location in question all around Lake Charles.

Although the decision is final, it has the possibility of being appealed and taken to the city council for a vote as well.
