Local talent in SWLA is one of my favorite things to talk about. There is so much talent in this area just waiting to be discovered. Years ago Charlie Wayne was playing at his friend's wedding during the Groom's dance with his mother. Leading up to that, the groom (Jordan Manella) had posted a video of him practicing the night before the wedding. The voice that came from this Sulphur native was unforgettable. Needless to say, I was already a fan before he even played for the wedding.

Fast forward a few months later, and he gets an acoustic gig at a local casino here in Lake Charles. "I didn't have enough music learned to play the entire set, so I had some friends come sit in with me to fill the spot," he says. The entertainment manager said he didn't care, "play the set twice if you have to."

Now, Charlie Wayne LeBoeuf has his first single out for the world to hear, along with his amazing voice that has soul and country all wrapped into one. I had the chance to sit down and talk to CWL about his new single, "If You Showed Up", and what the future holds for him. The single will air today for the first time on Gator 99.5 at 430pm, if you miss it or just can't wait to hear it, you can grab the song for yourself on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and Amazon. Give it a listen and get ready to hear more from this amazing Sulphur native.
