Olive Garden Raising Prices….Again: Here’s What We Know
You can understand why Olive Garden is one of the most well-liked fast-casual Italian restaurants in the nation after stuffing yourself with their salad and breadsticks.
The food is delicious.
That said, many Restaurant Go-ers are incensed that the CEO of Olive Garden has chosen to stick with a decision that has proven to be highly unpopular.
Olive Garden intends to keep raising prices all throughout the country. In an economic environment where costs are already sky high for everything, Olive Garden appears to be making a double move in raising its rates.
Fox Business News reports that Olive Garden, a business owned by the Darden Group, intends to increase prices by 2.5 to 3 percent over the course of the next year.
But keep in mind that, in the last year or so, Olive Garden has done an excellent job of maintaining a decent price point. In fact, the CEO of Olive Garden claims that, over the previous five years, Olive Garden has been underpricing its menus by 20%.
That being said, Olive Garden's plans to increase menu prices are a little worrying, given that many other eateries and fast food businesses are attempting to find methods to reduce their prices.
Remember that every menu item at Olive Garden comes with an enormous amount of food. For $21.99, the Tour of Italy dish includes a generous portion of lasagna, a serving of fettuccini alfredo, and a serving of chicken parmesan, in addition to breadsticks and salad.
